Addameer’s lawyers report today that more than 60 administrative detainees held in Ofer, Naqab and Megiddo prisons will boycott the Israeli Occupation’s military courts in protest of the administrative detention policy and the false trials they are subjected to.

On International Day to Support Victims of Torture, Addameer confirms that the Israeli Occupying Forces continues to use all forms of physical and psychological tortures against Palestinian prisoners and detainees as exemplified by the first reading of a force-feeding bill that took place in the Israeli Knesset.

Administrative detainee Khader Adnan has reached 50 days of hunger strike, and resolves to continue his protest until he is freed. Adnan reported to Adv. Samer Simaan, a lawyer for Addameer and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel (PHR-Israel), during his visit to him yesterday 23 June 15, that he will continue his open hunger strike while refusing vitamins, minerals and medical examinations until he is released. Adnan was among thousands of Palestinians who were arrested as a form of collective punishment during the war on Gaza in 2014. He was arrested on 08 July 2014 and has been held under administrative detention without charge or trial ever since. There are 414 Palestinians currently in administrative detention, all are held under secret evidence.

Ofer military court judge Ronen Atsmon accepted the military prosecution’s appeal to keep Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) member Khalida Jarrar detained until the end of trial based on secret information, reversing the previous decision for her release on bail.

The judge of Ofer Military Court issued a decision today to release Palestinian Legislative Council member Khalida Jarrar until the end of trial proceedings, on bail of 20,000 NIS and third party guarantees. The prosecution has 72 hours to appeal. It is expected that the prosecution will appeal as they have indicated. The prosecution also suggested that they will request an administrative detention order from the military commander.
